Brick work continues.

Brick work continues.

I stopped by the house quickly this morning to see how things were progressing. The mesh for the stucco is also complete for the entire house.
Brick work continues.

Work on the exterior has started. The mesh for the stucco is being installed.

The long format black brick has also started installation.

It’s very exciting to see the exterior go up as it is starting to look more and more like an actual house.
Sound baffles were installed in the ceilings and some interior walls.

Crews were also onsite working on the exterior windows. Now that all the sound baffles are installed, drywall installation can start next week.
Insulation inspection passed so drywall is next on the list.
Drywall was installed in the garage so that insulation could be sprayed in behind it.

All the rooms have giant piles ready to go.

All the various inspections have been completed and passed so we can finally move forward again. This week the insulation has sprayed in all the walls.

Drywall should be next for the interiors and the outside stucco and brick should start soon as well.
In between inspections, the flooring company came in to finish the concrete floors and then cover to protect them for the rest of the construction process.

Insulation and drywall is next on the list. It will really be interesting to see the walls get closed up after we’ve seen them so long exposed.
Things have been quite around the house as inspections are going on which will allow us to move on to insulation and drywall.
The door to the outdoor patio is installed which is quite impressive as part of the overall window package.

The brick coursing has also been nailed down in this sample area.

The skylight has been installed in the second story family area and it really brightened the room considerably.

Here is a picture of the front of the house now that the windows are installed.

We had a brief scare today when we discovered that Akash’s bathtub was full of water after two days of significant rain, but figured out pretty quickly they were doing a tub fill test. All the shower pans were also full of water. If all this passes, the plumbing should pass inspection and the electrical was inspected last week. If all goes well, the drywall will start in the next 10-14 days.
My father is town visiting so we took him by so he could see the progress. He took this nice panoramic photo from the upper garden terrace.

Windows are almost finished up. The windows around the front entrance are done and the only ones remaining are the ones in Akash’s room.
