The terrace is pretty much done and the steel bases for the railing are installed.
All the structural steel for the floating steps for the front door entry are in place and the rest of it will be formed and poured early next week. It will be so nice to finally have steps.
In solar news, the city passed our system and the meter has been installed. It is already pretty cool to see how our system is performing.
The main irrigation lines are also installed allowing us to start landscaping.
Things should be wrapping up in the next month and we may move into this house yet.
One big item that started last Friday was getting in the large steel staircase.
They got half installed Friday and they will be working on the rest this week. It will be nice to soon have a staircase to get to the 2nd floor instead of having to climb up the back.
It has been a few weeks since my last post since the concrete needed time to cure before any further work could be done.
In the mean time, the site has been cleaned to remove all the debris from the pour and form work, and the steel beams for the walls have been welded into place.
The remaining beams and trusses are being fabricated now and should be done later this week or early next week.
We are nearing the end of the site work before the foundation is poured early next week. The cardboard formwork is in and the steel is installed over it.
There are still a few more sections to wrap up. This is the guest suite that needs to be completed, but the beam work steel is in place and that’s the most time consuming. The horizontal slab steel goes in quickly.
By the end of next week, we should have the concrete poured and then the framing can start.
